Definitely an artist that I feel doesn’t get the recognition he deserves is Ras Kass. A westcoast emcee to the fullest, Ras Kass’ skills are often overshadowed by his troubles with the law, his label, or other emcees.
Working with a slew of top tier producers (Dr. Dre, Easy Mo Bee, Primo, RZA, Hi-Tek, etc) one would think Ras Kass would be on everybody’s radars but instead he became a victim of music industry bullsh*t. Despite ongoing issues, Ras Kass as an emcee is as solid as they come. If skills sold, truth be told, you don’t need to ask; a lot of rappers would rhyme like Ras Kass.
